Olive oil2 tbsp
Hot Honey Glaze
Honey⅓ cup
Hot sauce2 tbsp

Instructions

Step by step

01
Season the Chicken
Pat chicken dry. Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
02
Sear Skin Side Down
Heat olive oil in oven-safe skillet over medium-high. Place chicken skin-side down. Cook 6 to 7 minutes without moving until skin is golden and crispy.
🔑 Don't touch it — let the skin crisp
03
Make the Hot Honey
While chicken sears, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until butter melts.
04
Finish in the Oven
Flip chicken. Brush generously with hot honey glaze. Transfer skillet to 400°F oven. Bake 15 to 18 minutes until cooked through.
⏱ 400°F for 15-18 minutes
05
Glaze Again and Serve
Remove from oven, brush with remaining glaze, and serve immediately. Drizzle any extra glaze over the top.

Blu's Tips

🍯
Real Honey Only
Use real honey not the fake stuff. The flavor difference is significant and real honey caramelizes beautifully.
🌶️
Adjust the Heat
Start with 2 tablespoons of hot sauce and taste. Add more if you want more fire. Go easy — you can always add heat but you can't take it away.
🍗
Thighs Over Breasts
Chicken thighs stay juicy and flavorful even if slightly overcooked. Chicken breasts dry out fast. Thighs are the right call here.
🍕
Put It On Everything
This hot honey glaze works on pizza, roasted vegetables, cornbread, and fried chicken sandwiches. Make extra and keep it in the fridge.

How to Store It

Keep it fresh as long as possible

❄️
Refrigerator
4 Days
Store in airtight container. Reheat in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes to re-crisp the skin.
🍯
Extra Glaze
2 Weeks
Store leftover hot honey glaze in a jar in the fridge. Warm gently before using.
🧊
Freezer
2 Months
Freeze cooked chicken without the glaze. Thaw overnight in the fridge and glaze fresh when reheating.
🙏

Sweet and spicy together is not a trend. It is a truth. And this chicken proves it.
