Blu's Tips

🥟
Any Frozen Dumplings Work
Pork, chicken, vegetable, shrimp — any variety from the freezer aisle works beautifully. Do not thaw them first.
🍯
The Honey Is Important
The tablespoon of honey helps the sauce caramelize and gives the dumplings that beautiful glossy coat. Do not leave it out.
🧄
Fresh Ginger and Garlic
Fresh ginger and garlic give this sauce a brightness that the dried versions cannot replicate. Worth the extra two minutes.
🍚
Serve Over Rice
Steamed white or brown rice soaks up the sauce perfectly. You want something to catch every drop of that glossy ginger-soy sauce.

How to Store It

Keep it fresh as long as possible

❄️
Refrigerator
3 Days
Store in an airtight container. Reheat in the microwave or in a pan with a splash of broth to loosen the sauce.
🥟
Best Fresh
Same Day
Dumplings are at their best right out of the oven. They soften as they sit but the flavor stays great.
🧊
Freezer
Not Ideal
The texture of twice-frozen dumplings suffers. Better to make fresh batches from frozen dumplings than to refreeze leftovers.
🙏

Taking something simple and making it special — that is what cooking is really about.
