The Salad
English cucumbers, thinly sliced2 large
Red onion, thinly sliced¼
Fresh dill2 tbsp
Salt1 tsp
The Dressing
Cream cheese, softened4 oz
Sour cream¼ cup
White wine vinegar2 tbsp
Sugar1 tsp
Garlic powder½ tsp
Salt and pepperto taste

Salt the Cucumbers
Toss sliced cucumbers with 1 teaspoon salt and let sit for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Make the Dressing
Beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in sour cream, white wine vinegar, sugar, and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper.

Combine Everything
Toss salted dried cucumbers and red onion with the creamy dressing until everything is coated.

Fold in fresh dill. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or a splash more vinegar if needed.

English cucumbers have thinner skin and fewer seeds. Regular cucumbers work but peel them first and scoop out the seeds.

Salting and drying the cucumbers removes water that would make the dressing watery and thin. Do not skip this step.

Fresh Dill Only
Dried dill does not work here. Fresh dill is what gives this salad its bright clean flavor. Worth the extra trip to the produce section.
