This is the recipe that turns those forgotten bananas on the counter into something worth waking up for. Simple ingredients. No mixer needed. Just a bowl, a fork, and about ten minutes of your time. The hardest part is waiting for it to cool.

Wet
Very ripe bananas, mashed3 large
Butter, melted⅓ cup
Sugar¾ cup
Egg, beaten1
Vanilla extract1 tsp
Dry
All-purpose flour1½ cups
Baking soda1 tsp
Salt¼ tsp

Preheat and Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan and set aside.

Mash the Bananas
In a large bowl mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. The riper the better.

Mix Wet Ingredients
Stir melted butter into the mashed bananas. Mix in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.

Add Dry Ingredients
Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in. Add flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
